More and more I am beginning to suspect Netflix that the only way to claim a role in a Netflix Original Comedy (NOmedy) is a complete lack of talent and a script written by an eight-year-old, assisted by some of his friends. The "jokes" are therefore of a level that has little or no equal. In addition, the voice of the main character is so exciting that you would almost think that a Fran Drescher from "The Nanny" sounded pleasant at the time.
Miranda Sings is a character created by Colleen and she has been doing this for years on her Youtube channel. Netflix has made a deal with her for a series (probably to attract a wider audience, through the youtube community). But you must love the humor indeed!
Of course, it is not the case that just because you have been doing something for years that you are doing it well. This is a prime example of this. It is difficult to say that this thirty-year-old "teenager" is full of talent and if she has come up with all this herself, the child may have to visit a doctor because this "humor" with incestuous uncles, fish sticking on the outside of an aquarium and so on is maybe nice for the average thirteen-year-old viewer, but I don't believe the rest of the world has any further message from this. Taste is choice, of course, and bad taste too, but in combination with a lack of any talent and that exciting voice on top, I find it very painful.
Ballinger's YouTube videos have received a total of more than 2.5 billion views.[46] In 2015, Miranda was ranked the 7th "most popular YouTube personality", by Daily American,[144] and one of the "Top 25 Digital Stars", by The Hollywood Reporter.[4] The Los Angeles Times wrote of her videos, "this footage is a major hoot".[60] Perez Hilton praised Miranda's parody of Sia's song "Chandelier" as "the crowning achievement of music video parodies ... utterly fantastic. ... [Ballinger] really has superb comedic timing."[145] Initially, Miranda Sings enjoyed widespread popularity among musical theatre fans.[40][42][60] Later, her fan base expanded particularly among teenagers.[67][85][146] TV Guide commented: "Ironically, the character ... was created to satirize the very type of YouTube fame she's managed to cultivate
