'Heroes' returns

NBC just announced that 13 episodes of 'Heroes' have been ordered, the superhero success that ended in 2010.

'Heroes' features ordinary people who find out they have extraordinary powers. The first season was highly regarded but after that the ratings and criticism died down. The show ran for four seasons. In the lead roles we saw Milo Ventigmiglia, Hayden Panettiere and Ali Larter.

Creator and executive producer of the original series, Tim Kring, is set to return for the new show. NBC promotes it as a television event miniseries named 'Heroes Reborn'. "The enormous impact 'Heroes' had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening," NBC Entertainment spokeswoman Jennifer Salke says. "Shows with that kind of resonance don't come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We're thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept."

The show will air in 2015, which could give Kring enough time. Salke doesn't rule out the possibility of some of the old cast members returning to the show.
