The documentary series 'The Village behind the Wall' follows the staff and prisoners of the Brussels prisons Vorst, Sint-Gillis and Berkendael for a year. A crucial year because they move from their dilapidated 19th century prison to the ultramodern prison village in Haren.
Jurgen Van Poecke, the general director of the Brussels prisons, wants to realize his big dream together with his team. Haren will be the first prison in Belgium to operate according to a new system aimed at humane detention. The intention is that the detainees can move more freely through a badge system and that they are given more opportunities to better prepare for reintegration into society.

Have already watched this series of 5 episodes via Vrtmax. I am quite interested in life behind bars or how they want to integrate these people back into society. Of course, that's where the problem lies! Nice series.
