It strikes me as a series that offers a glimpse into the world of oil and gas extraction. It's a rough world where everything revolves around money and luxury. People who think they can afford an easy and wealthy life and are willing to do anything to achieve it are drawn to this world. That's their choice and, in my opinion, has nothing to do with misogyny. Money does indeed buy happiness is their motto.
