Miles “Pudge” Halter is a new arrival at a boarding school who tries to gain a deeper perspective on life as he rapidly falls in love with a beguiling female student, Alaska Young. After Alaska's unexpected death, Pudge and his close friends attempt to uncover the truth behind her death and make sense of it.
