Lost in Space renewed for third and final season

Netflix has renewed Lost and Space for a third season, which will also serve as its final season. The science fiction series premiered in April 2018. According to Nielsen, this series acquired 3.16 million viewers on its first day (US only). In Lost in Space, the Robinson family find themselves lightyears away from their final destination. The series is based on the series with the same name from 1965. The final season is set to premiere in 2021, but a definitive release date has not yet been revealed.

The cast consists of Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio and Parker Posey. Zack Estrin, who serves as executive producer and showrunner, has signed a new contract at Netflix. Due to this contract, Estrin will only be allowed to produce shows for Netflix.
