I am a fan of anything that smells of the occult (that is, if the script is okay and the story structure is strong). So I personally loved Messiah because it's my thing. Good actors too. The only point of criticism is that it was sometimes a bit slow, with those long drawn-out scenes.

It's a bit like Homeland, but that's all about it. This story did not appeal to me at all.

Unfortunately canceled ... was curious how the story would continue. After The OA and Santa Clarita Diet, another cancel blunder from Netflix.
