This series works just the wrong way round. The first episode immediately left me wanting more and the next two episodes more than delivered. However, after that it collapses. There are episodes with almost only monologues and the series becomes a (at times very) slow burn. The religious component also becomes increasingly important. In itself this is understandable with a series called "Nachtmis", but at a certain point you are really bombarded with Bible texts. For people who are familiar with the horror genre, it is not difficult to see very early in the series what it is actually about. In any case, you want to see how things turn out with the people you sympathize with, but also especially with the people who are on "the other side" of the sympathy spectrum. I gave the series a 9 after three episodes, but unfortunately I decided to lower that a bit once I had seen everything. But despite that, this series is definitely worth it for genre fans. The same applies to voting for one of the actors. At first I went for the hero of the story. But in the end I chose Samantha Sloyan as Bev Keane. Simply because her performance evoked the most feelings in me. Not nice feelings, but that was still nice.

A separate series, described as a horror genre. Why did I decide to watch this series when I've never watched a horror movie/series in my entire life? I don't like that, but there was something that attracted me to try it. I assumed I would fly into the ceiling every 5 minutes from the scares, but that didn't happen either. What happened then? Lots of long (religious) monologues and the occasional moment that woke me up. I can't really explain why I watched the 7 episodes, it wasn't bad, it wasn't good, but in the end it was worth it, otherwise I would have stopped watching sooner. But I don't think a second season is necessary.
