I have seen season 1, very nice! Getting used to no mobile phone, computers, etc. But that's what makes it so much fun! Glad Netflix now has season 1 + 2 on it!

Fantastic series. The chemistry between Phryne and Jack is fantastic. You can see and feel it. The wonderfully honest Dot who holds her own in a world that is so exciting for her. You see her and Hugh fall in love and eventually get married. Phryne is a combination of Miss Marple, Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes, and very naughty & challenging. A very intelligent woman.

Certainly not a high flyer, but just a fun and simple pastime with a step into the past. Essie Davis as Phryne Fisher plays a nice role as a free-spirited and headstrong detective, although as a viewer you can guess where she got her fortune from based on what I've seen so far. With all the eye for detail to capture the atmosphere of the 1920s / 1930s, which also works very well, I think it is a shame at the start of the first episode at a scene in the harbor on a (bad and so disturbing) computer animation of a ship in the background. In all likelihood I am the only one who has seen this again but save yourself as creators money and effort and make up something else or just leave such a scene out and let the character tell anyone at her first meeting that she just arrived arrived. Not a rooster that crows about it. Another "trifle" that the creators have overlooked is the type of revolver our heroine swings around with every episode. That weapon only came on the market in the 1950s.
