What I found so special is the calm and honesty with which he speaks. There's no grandiose self-aggrandizement, only an intimate reflection on a life full of stories. The interplay of archive footage, photos, and new interviews gives the series a calm, almost contemplative atmosphere, making you truly take the time to reflect on his words.
It's a series you don't watch in one sitting, but one that makes you reflect on the meaning of film and what it's like to grow older and look back with gratitude. For me, it felt personal and moving, as if I were sitting at Scorsese's table while he was talking.
