Nashville Star is an American competition-programma which aired on NBC. The series premiered on March 8, 2003.

The "American Idol" for aspiring country artists shifts from USA Network to NBC, as a group of hopefuls vies for a major recording contract with the Warner Bros. Nashville label, along with a bonus that's a very big deal: performing on the world's stage at the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
