Casting news for Netflix series From Scratch

The cast for From Scratch has been completed. Six actors have joined to portray recurring characters. Next to that, the guest characters have also been added. From Scratch revolves around an African-American woman who fell in love with a Sicilian chef while she was in Florence for her studies. Together, they build up a life in Los Angeles. When she is confronted with his unexpected cancer diagnosis, Amy becomes the caretaker to her husband. She brings their two very different families together.

Terrell Carter (Empire), Medalion Rahimi (NCIS: Los Angeles), Jonathan Del Arco (Star Trek: Picard), Peter Mendoza (Snowfall), Lorenzo Pozzan (Catch-22) and Jonathan D. King (Kidding) have been cast for a recurring character. The six join Zoe Saldana (Six Degrees) and Eugenio Mastrandrea (La fuggitiva). Next to that, Giacomo Gianniotti (Grey's Anatomy), Elizabeth Anweis (Batwoman), Kassandra Clementi (Home and Away) and Rodney Gardiner (David Makes Man) will portray a guest character.

The series is based on the book with the same name by Tembi Locke from 2019. Attica Locke (Little Fires Everywhere), the sister of the writer, will be adapting the book into a series and will serve as showrunner. The series comes from Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine and Zoe Saldana's Cinestar. It is not yet known when the series is scheduled to release on Netflix.
