Emmy winner Jon Hamm has a recurring role opposite Billy Bob Thornton in Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace's Paramount+ drama Landman. Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day story about seeking fortune in the world of oil rigs.
Based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is a top-down story of roughnecks and billionaires fueling an explosion so big it's changing our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.
Hamm (pictured) plays Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris (Thornton).
The actor is perhaps best known for his role as Don Draper in Mad Men, a role that earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, along with Golden Globe, TCA and Critics Choice Television Awards, in addition to several SAG Award nominations.
Hamm recently appeared on season three of The Morning Show and the second season of Neil Gaiman's Good Omens. He lends his voice to the animated detective comedy series Grimsburg, which he also executive produces. He will star in and executive produce two upcoming series: Your Friends and Neighbors and the live-action series adaptation of the psychological thriller podcast American Hostage.
Landman also stars Ali Larter (The Rookie), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (The Son), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Special Ops: Lioness), Mark Collie (Nashville), Paulina Chávez (Fate: The Winx Saga) and Demi Moore (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans).
Currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, Landman is produced by Sheridan, Wallace, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch, for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt, for Texas Monthly, also produce. Peter Feldman is co-executive producer.
Landman is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan's Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.
