The new series centers on a 'librarian' (Callum McGowan) from the past, who has traveled to the present and is now trapped here. When he returns to his castle, which is now a museum, he accidentally unleashes magic across the continent. He gets a new team to help him clean up the mess he made, forming a new team of librarians.

McGowan, Olivia Morris, Bluey Robinson and Caroline Loncq (pictured from left to right) join previously announced Jessica Green and guest star Christian Kane, reprising his role as Jacob Stone, in the spinoff series.
McGowan plays Vikram Chamberlin, the librarian. Vikram was THE librarian in 1847. He broke the rules of The Library and accidentally transported himself to present-day Central Europe, where he must lead a team of talented young people to protect magical artifacts from those who would misuse them. The question is whether Vikram will keep his oath to The Library (and his new team) or whether he will try to travel back to his own time where unfinished business - and his heart - remain.
Morris plays Lysa Pascal, the scientist. Lysa is a brilliant artist, with advanced degrees in physics, mathematics and engineering. A tragedy in her youth makes her obsessed with eliminating the unpredictable from life. When she inherits an old castle in Serbia, she finds herself in the orbit of Vikram and The Library. She joins his team to see if 'magic' can be explained scientifically. Her involvement also has a deeper motive... Vikram's past could be the key to unraveling her own identity.
Robinson is Connor Green, the historian. After losing a career in academia after claiming that magic does exist in the world, Connor became a fringe figure posting his findings on the Internet to an audience of conspiracy freaks. In addition to an encyclopedic knowledge of history and all things supernatural, Connor is an extreme athlete and parkour expert, who has trained himself to get in... and out... of the mysterious corners of the paranormal world. Connor's involvement with Vikram is his chance to prove him right. Sadly, he has now sworn off ever telling anyone what he knows.
Loncq plays Elaine Astalot, the caretaker. A resident of Camelot during the time of King Arthur, Elaine is an immortal and custodian of The Library. She has her hands full keeping Vikram and the rest of his team in line, but never loses the cool of a British landlady who has seen just about everything in her fourteen centuries on the planet.
Dean Devlin is the showrunner and will produce alongside Electric Entertainment's Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson. Noah Wyle also serves as executive producer. Electric Entertainment's Mark Franco and Balkanic Media's Jonathan English are also producing.
McGowan recently filmed several episodes for the second season of Canal+/BBC's Marie Antoinette. Last year he completed a leading role in the television series Kensal Town. His other series roles include a guest role in Sky 1 period drama Jamestown.
Morris played leading roles in HBO Asia's series The Head (2020) and Hotel Portofino for Britbox.
Robinson had a regular role in Sky Atlantic's series Britannia and a guest role in Acorn TV's The Chelsea Detective, among others. He received a nomination for the British Independent Film Award for his role in Dirty God.
Loncq's recent series roles include Mammals for Prime Video, BBC/AMC's Killing Eve, Sky Atlantic's Riviera, Channel 4's No Offense and Syfy's Nightflyers.
