New Cast Members and Characters Revealed for Netflix's Little House on the Prairie Reboot

Netflix's Little House on the Prairie reboot has cast more major roles, including Jocko Sims and Warren Christie.
The long-awaited reboot of Little House on the Prairie, based on the iconic semi-autobiographical novels by Laura Ingalls Wilder, is taking shape. Jocko Sims, Warren Christie, Wren Zhawenim Gotts, Meegwun Fairbrother, Alyssa Wapanatâhk, and Xander Cole join the cast of this updated version of the classic American pioneer tale.

Jocko Sims

Sims plays Dr. George Tann, a warm, generous physician on the Osage Diminished Reservation, based on a historical figure in the books who treated the Ingalls family during a malaria outbreak. Christie brings to the screen the character of John Edwards — a charming, mysterious veteran from Tennessee. His version seems partly based on the book character and partly on “Mr. Edwards” from the original TV series. Fairbrother plays Mitchell, a mild-mannered, successful farmer with the most impressive farm in the county. It is not yet known whether his character, like Fairbrother himself, is of mixed Scots-Ojibwe heritage.

Wapanatâhk stars as White Sun, Mitchell’s wife: a sharp, independent woman with a sense of humor and a down-to-earth view of the world. Gotts makes an appearance as Good Eagle, Mitchell and White Sun’s creative and imaginative daughter — a natural storyteller. Cole has a recurring role as Little Puma, White Sun’s younger brother. Sweet but headstrong, struggling with his identity, and often at odds with his big sister — despite their close bond.

The previously announced lead roles are filled by Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Luke Bracey as Charles Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline Ingalls, and Skywalker Hughes as Mary Ingalls.

Warren Christie

Developed by Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, The Vampire Diaries) and produced by CBS Studios, the reboot is described as:

"Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival story, and part origin story of the American West."

Notably, an extended Osage family features prominently — a fresh addition to the Little House universe that seems to elevate the reboot to a broader, more culturally aware approach.
