The Bear actress Liza Colon-Zayas added to cast of Hulu real estate series

Emmy winner Liza Colon-Zayas has joined the cast of Onyx Collective's as-yet-untitled real estate drama for Hulu. The Hulu series has already cast Edgar Ramirez and Jacob Scipio as the leads, and Leslie Grace, Mariana Di Girólamo, Liz Caribel Sierra, and Armando Rivera as series regulars. Liza Colon-Zayas will have a recurring role alongside newly cast actors William Fichtner, Alfredo Castro, and Jared Abrahamson. Filming began on July 14 in Toronto.

The drama, directed by Roberto Patino and Cassius Corrigan, centers on a brutal battle to dominate the Manhattan skyline. Two rival real estate developers (Ramirez and Scipio) risk everything—their wealth, families, and even their souls—when their ambition turns into obsession and their partnership escalates into a hostile war.

Colon-Zayas (The Bear) will play Rosie, the beloved, socially conscious head of a Lower East Side neighborhood council. Rosie becomes embroiled in an explosive real estate project that provokes both anger and admiration and threatens to destroy her predominantly Puerto Rican community.

Fichtner (Prison Break) will play Harry Dempsey, a father figure and mentor who has guided Abe's (Scipio) meteoric rise in the real estate world, keeping him grounded as he himself is on the verge of finally achieving his Manhattan dream.

Castro (Narcos) plays Jacobo Saladín, the imposing patriarch of the Saladín Corporation. Jacobo is a legendary, self-made billionaire and real estate magnate who has housed millions of people in Latin America, but whose empire is now faltering.

Abrahamson (The Changeling) plays Angelo, Abe’s loyal friend and partner, an ambitious con man from the suburbs trying to find his place in the ruthless real estate world of Manhattan.
