Prime Video has officially given the green light for Bishop, an original thriller series starring Joel Kinnaman.Joel Kinnaman plays Detective Bishop Graves in the new Prime Video crime thriller series Bishop. Bishop is a brilliant but world-weary policeman hunting a mysterious serial killer targeting the wealthy elite of San Francisco. As the killer gathers a loyal following among the powerless, Bishop uncovers a disturbing connection: the murders seem to lead to the most powerful man in the city, his own father, Lincoln Graves.

The series is being developed by Little Marvin (Them) and Tony Saltzman (Dexter: Resurrection), in collaboration with Vertigo and Amazon MGM Studios.
The project went into development earlier this year with Kinnaman immediately as the first choice for the title role. For the role of Lincoln, there were talks with a well-known A-lister, but that collaboration ultimately did not materialize. Little Marvin serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Saltzman and Vertigo producers Roy Lee and Miri Yoon.
The series stems from Little Marvin’s overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios. It is his second project under that agreement to be elevated to a series, following Them, the horror anthology that ran for two seasons.
Joel Kinnaman is currently also seen in For All Mankind on Apple TV+, for which a fifth season is on the way, although the status of his character in it is uncertain. Additionally, he will soon star opposite Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington in the Apple miniseries Imperfect Women.
