Lead role for Modern Family actress in Yours, Mine & Paul's at ABC

Yours, Mine & Paul's has entered production at ABC. A Modern Family actress will portray the lead character. Next to that, the series will also be produced by a Modern Family actor. Yours, Mine & Paul's revolves around Lauren, who suddenly decides to become a surrogate mother for her best friend Paul and his husband Xander. There's just one problem: Lauren and Xander hate each other and Paul suddenly dies in the Cold Open. Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) is going to portray Lauren in the new series.

Ty Burrell - who portrayed Phil Dunphy, the father of Hyland's character in Modern Family - serves as executive producer, alongside Mel Cowan (Casual), Jonny Meeks and Joel Spence (Big Little Lies). The project comes from the recently created Desert Whale Productions from Burrell. Julia Meltzer (Modern Family) has written Yours, Mine & Paul's.
