Why seasons and episodes sometimes differ per platform

Why seasons and episodes sometimes differ per platform

The order of episodes or the arrangement of seasons can differ between streaming services, channels and the original source. MySeries always follows the original arrangement of the creators.
Nowadays you can watch series wherever and whenever you want: on Netflix, SkyShowtime, Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV+ and many more platforms. Many of these services have, in addition to their own productions, also bought series that were previously on TV or elsewhere.

This is convenient for viewers, but it can also cause confusion. Because the way in which seasons and episodes are arranged is not always the same as it was originally intended. Sometimes episodes are merged or split, the order changes or a series suddenly gets fewer (or more) seasons. And this does not only happen with large international platforms, but also with Dutch channels and services.

At MySeries we therefore always keep the original information. So how the episodes and seasons were originally broadcast - including dates and duration - that is what you will find with us. It is therefore possible that the data on MySerie is different from what you see on a streaming service or channel.

Netwerken

If you want to be sure where you left off in a series, it is smart to keep the original order as it is on MySeries. Even our editors sometimes have to figure out exactly how things are when platforms have changed something, because this happens regularly and with all kinds of series.

Our goal is to keep everything as clear and correct as possible, so that you as a user can easily keep track of what you have seen.

Please note: This is especially true for series that have previously been broadcast on the original channel/cable/network and are now appearing again on another platform. Do you have any doubts? Feel free to ask your question on the forum of MySeries.

I recently had this problem when I watched the first season of the comedy series Ghosts on Netflix. The episodes were not in the correct order as they were broadcast on CBS, the original channel that broadcast the series. That is extremely annoying. Luckily I kept an eye on the episode titles on MySeries, so I knew which episode was broadcast after the previous episode. Also with Love, Death and Robots season 1 (again Netflix, what is it with that streamer??) the episodes were mixed up compared to how they were in order on MySeries. And this is a Netflix Original, mind you.
