The impressive series The Witcher was conceived by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who previously worked on Netflix series such as Daredevil and The Umbrella Academy. Netflix has already announced before the start of the first season that a second season will follow. Production on season 2 must start at the beginning of 2020. It is already clear that Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan will once again take on the roles of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri.

The stories of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, Princess Ciri and the supreme magician Yennefer take place in different timelines in the first season. Later, around the last few episodes, their storylines really come together. The characters whose side you are initially on may also be characters that you no longer support. And characters that you hate can have something that makes them very human and emotional. That is a special feature of the series.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich reports that preparations for the second season are already in full swing. Hissrich was able to say something more about the story of the second season compared to Gamesradar. "The great thing about the second season is that the story is a lot more focused. The first season was mainly about capturing the relationships between the characters; the second season is reaping the benefits. We are not in production as of yet, but the storylines of the second season are pretty much already fixed. "
Henry Cavill
Actor Henry Cavill, who portrays Geralt of Rivia, has done a great job as a monster hunter in the first season of The Witcher. The actor did many of his own stunts in the series, including sword fighting. With this he hoped to make sure that everything would look as realistic as possible. Still, some scenes were not always easy for him as he even almost lost his sight. That is because of the colored contact lenses he had to wear to completely transform into Geralt. In a recent interview with Metro, he admitted that he used the lenses for far too long. His eye doctor continued to warn that he was only allowed to use the contact lenses for a few hours. That stubbornness almost cost Henry his eyesight. Certainly when there were also pieces of flying volcano residue behind the lenses.
In the final episode of the first season of The Witcher, Geralt sees a vision of a young woman named Visenna. Although the series gives no other details about this new character, we know from clues from the games and books that she is his mother. These short images of the new character show that season two will focus more on Geralt's history and how he became a Witcher. I am really curious about season 2. When it is going to release, Netflix has not yet revealed. There were reports that we have to wait till 2021, but season 2 could also release in December 2020. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has also indicated that she would like to make seven seasons, so for the time being we haven't seen the last of the monster hunter.
