Which series were most recently affected by the WGA strike? We've added Daredevil: Born Again, Severance and Billions to the list.
The Writers Guild of America is on strike and hundreds of TV and movie writers are lining up. Of course, that means that writing for many television series such as Evil, Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Yellowjackets and Abbott Elementary has come to a standstill. MijnSeries keeps up with the latest news about delays and production stops due to the strike, so keep visiting us regularly.

UNSTABLE

Sources tell Deadline that production on the second season of the Netflix series starring Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe, which started at the end of March, has been halted.

NIGHT COURT (2023)

According to sources, NBC's Night Court (2023) is currently in production for its second season. The sitcom is off this week, but is expected to resume filming next week. As a multi-camera comedy, that's impossible without writers given the amount of editing done before and during shooting, so the series is expected to go black for now.

THE VENERY OF SAMANTHA BIRD

The Starz drama series has halted production with two episodes left of its eight episodes to be shot. The series will be shot in Montreal.

Billions

BILLIONS

The Showtime drama shut down production for several hours on May 4 after cast and crew members refused to pass WGA pickets. Filming resumed later that day.

We've learned that the writers' room has closed for Starz's Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which was in production for season three.

COBRA KAI

Cobra Kai has closed its writers' room for its sixth season. Series co-creator Jon Hurwitz tweeted "No writers on set" along with a group photo of the writers.

YELLOWJACKETS

Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle has revealed that work on the Showtime drama has stopped "after one day in the #Yellowjackets S3 writers' room. It's been amazing, and creatively empowering, and so much fun, and I'm really excited to continue it again." to go as soon as the #WGA strikes a fair deal."

ABBOTT ELEMENTARY

"We demand that this industry be one that can sustain a career," Abbott Elementary writer Brittani Nichols and Los Angeles-based captain for WGA West said in an interview with Democracy Now. She calls the industry a "gig economy," where studios prioritize Wall Street, not employees. The series is one of the series whose writers' room has been closed.

Late-night talk shows have also gone black. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night with Seth Meyers are now officially on reruns, and Saturday Night Live has also shut down production and will air reruns for now. The Talk has also been discontinued.
