Doctor Who Star David Tennant to Appear at Heroes Dutch Comic Con After All

The Scottish actor will be a guest at the extended summer edition of the Netherlands’ biggest comic con. Good news for Doctor Who fans: David Tennant is coming to the summer edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con!
Last year, Tennant was also announced for the event at the Jaarbeurs, but had to cancel due to filming commitments. This time, however, the actor will be travelling to Utrecht to finally meet his Dutch fans. David Tennant will be attending the event on both Saturday and Sunday.

Best known for his role as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, David Tennant is the latest special guest announced for the three-day pop culture event. On 20, 21, and 22 June 2025, Heroes Dutch Comic Con will open its doors at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht for its summer edition. This marks the second time the event offers fans an additional evening with exclusive programming and activities.

With over three decades of experience in television, film, theatre, and radio, David Tennant is a well-established figure in the industry. He achieved worldwide fame through his portrayal of the Tenth (and later Fourteenth) Doctor in the long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who. The show follows The Doctor as they travel through time and space with a companion, saving the universe from countless threats. Tennant took on the role for over 60 episodes and received multiple accolades for his performance, including a BAFTA for Best Actor. He briefly returned as the Fourteenth Doctor in 2023.

Tennant also starred opposite Michael Sheen as the hedonistic demon Crowley in the television series Good Omens, based on the classic 1990 novel by Neil Gaiman. Additionally, he lent his voice to the android Huyang in Ahsoka and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans may also recognise him from his other notable roles, including Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, DI Alec Hardy in the BAFTA-winning crime drama Broadchurch, and the villainous Kilgrave in the Marvel series Jessica Jones.

David Tennant will be present at the Jaarbeurs on 21 and 22 June. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with him, collect his autograph, and ask questions during the Q&A sessions on the main stage. Photo booth tickets are available through the organiser’s online ticket shop.
