Corona crisis; which series to watch? Henk Vernout's top 5

It has become a well-known image, empty supermarket shelves, empty squares and shopping malls. People work from home or not at all. How can you spend that time? We have made a top 5 displaying series you could watch in these peculiar times.

An abundance of series. Many now have plenty of time. Allow me to present to you five series that you absolutely should've seen. Are they the best? No. But I think you'll be happy once the credits roll.

5. The Magicians

You can watch this crazy Harry Potter-esque series on Amazon Prime (in most countries). It's quick, quirky, chaotic and hilarious, but easy to watch. A definite recommendation!

4. Agent Carter

You can watch this golden oldie (for some) on Disney+. It's crazy that this show didn't receive more viewers while it was still airing. A great show to watch.

3. Penny Dreadful

The only series I've ever given a 10. Even if you don't enjoy this genre, don't understand and are blind, you will still consider this to be one of the best shows ever. The cinematography is amazing, but the acting is incredible, especially that of Eva Green. Magisterial. Are you already trying to find a way to look at this series?

2. Hannibal

If we were able to give an 11 to series, Hannibal would get it. I think, and I definitely will not make friends by saying this, that this series is better than the movies. Well, I said it. You can kill me now.

1. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

A couple of years ago, I still despised comedies. I thought it was all too predictable or weak, but Brooklyn Nine-Nine changed my mind. You just have to pass the first five episodes (those aren't that great), and after that, you'll be able to watch a series that will have you laughing.

Oh! And I can name dozens of other series. But it is a top 5 of course. Okay, I won't! The Boys, Westworld, Orphan Black, The Good Place and Watchmen (2019) are all masterpieces. Have you already gone through this top 5 by tomorrow? Don't worry. More top-fives are heading your way.
