Beau Willimon (House of Cards (2013)) is working on a new series, which is based on Risk, the board game made by Hasbro.
Back in 1957, Risk was created by Albert Lamorisse. In the meanwhile, the board game has grown to become one of the most popular games ever. It's not crazy that the game has acquired the attention of producers. The project comes from Beau Willimon (House of Cards (2013)), who will adapt the game into a series as part of a deal with eOne.
In the game of Risk, players have to fight in order to complete their tasks over the 42 territories, which are spread out over six continents. The players possess armies, which they can use to conquer areas by using dice. It isn't entirely sure how these game mechanics will impact the story of the series. Michael Lombardo from eOne said the following; “In Beau, we’ve found an amazing combination of brilliant producer, singular creator, and avid fan of Risk. We can’t wait to work with him and the rest of the Westward team to reimagine that brand and so much more.”
