Hulu orders new series Immigrant

Hulu has ordered an eight-part series about the founder of the Chippendales. Kumail Nanjiani (Bless The Harts) will portray the lead character in the series, which will be called Immigrant. Immigrant is based on the true story of Somen "Steve" Banerjee, the Indian-American entrepreneur who founded the Chippendales. The group of male strippers became a cultural phenomenon. The series will show the insane, darkly comical and crime-festered story behind this group.

Kumail Nanjiani (Bless The Harts) will portray the lead character. Alongside Robert Siegel (Pam & Tommy), Nanjiani created the series. He will also serve as executive producer. Immigrant has been written by Siegel. The rest of the cast hasn't been revealed as of yet. It is not known when the series is set to premiere. Hulu has ordered eight episodes.
