Jason Clarke will star in new series The Last Frontier from Apple TV+

Apple Studios has green-lighted Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D'Ovidio's new drama series The Last Frontier, starring Jason Clarke.
The ten-part Apple TV+ project follows U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick (Clarke), the sole marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged wilderness of Alaska, whose jurisdiction is turned upside down when a prisoner transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, freeing dozens of violent prisoners. He must protect the city he has sworn to keep safe, but begins to suspect that the crash was not an accident but rather the first step of a well-laid plan with international political implications.

Clarke (photo) is known for Showtime's Brotherhood, FOX series The Chicago Code, HBO miniseries Catherine the Great with Helen Mirren and HBO's Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

The new series is produced by Apple Studios. Sam Hargrave (The Mandalorian) directs the pilot and executive produces with Bokenkamp (The Blacklist), D'Ovidio (The Blacklist: Redemption) and Clarke.

The Last Frontier joins a series of new television projects from Apple, including City on Fire from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, which premieres Friday, May 12; Masters of the Air from Amblin Television by Steven Spielberg and Playtone by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman; Lessons In Chemistry, starring Brie Larson and based on the bestseller; High Desert, a new comedy series starring Patricia Arquette, who will executive produce alongside director Ben Stiller; and The Changeling, a new drama series starring and executive producing LaKeith Stanfield.
