Chloë Grace Moretz will star in the podcast-based My Mom's Murder

My Mom's Murder tells the story of how a woman believed her mother died of a heart condition, but it turns out she was murdered.
The audio series is hosted by this woman, Lauren Malloy, and launched last week on Audible. The podcast is now being turned into a television series starring Chloë Grace Moretz (photo).

In the ten-part podcast, produced by AYR Media, the company behind series such as The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey and Queen of the Con, Malloy discovers the shocking truth about the death of her mother Lori in 1993.

When Malloy was just a baby, her mother died and she was raised to believe that her death was from natural causes. When she discovers that her mother's death was actually an unsolved murder, she sets out on a journey to find out the truth.

The podcast follows Malloy as she confronts family members, interviews old friends and unearths hidden evidence about her mother's life and death. Her investigation leads her to dark characters from her mother's past and navigates conflicting stories and disturbing truths, culminating in potential breakthroughs in the decades-long cold case.

Moretz is now helming the television adaptation, which comes from MGM Television. Moretz produces with Aliza Rosen Moretz of AYR Media, Steve Stark and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures and Jackie Levine for Audible. Malloy will serve as a producer for the series.

Moretz, who made her breakthrough in Kick-Ass, has starred in films such as Suspiria and The Miseducation of Cameron Post, as well as the Prime Video series The Peripheral.

The podcast is produced by Aliza Rosen for AYR Media, actress Chloë Grace Moretz, Lara Regan Kleinschmidt for Audible, Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures and MGM Television. Malloy is a producer.
