Fox is developing a television series titled Wine & Spirits from Jessica Alba.

Fox is working on a new mystery drama series titled Wine & Spirits, coming from Jessica Alba's production company Lady Metalmark Entertainment. The series Wine & Spirits is based on the life and work of Manhattan Beach-based paranormal medium Jennifer Shaffer, who assists the FBI and LAPD in solving crimes alongside her private clients.

The story, written by Robert Sudduth (Acapulco), follows Jennifer Shepherd, a medium balancing her life as a mother and divorced woman with her role as a consultant for the FBI.

Jessica Alba emphasized her personal connection with Shaffer: “From the moment I met Jen, I knew she was special. Not just because of her gift to connect with the other side, but also due to her humor, energy, and style. It's a privilege to build a series around someone so dynamic.”

Sudduth added that this project takes him back to his own childhood, where he grew up with ghost stories told by his tías. “Jen Shaffer is a force, her candid relationship with the afterlife and personal stories are the inspiration for this unique series.”

Shaffer herself emphasizes that the series aims to be more than just a crime series: “It's not just about solving mysteries, but also about connection, healing, and the reminder that people are never alone.”

Fox Entertainment Studios is producing the series. Wine & Spirits follows the line of Fox's earlier success in the mystery genre, with the series Murder in a Small Town, which begins its second season this fall.
