Quibi brings drama series Swimming with Sharks

The actresses Kiernan Shipka (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Diane Kruger (The Bridge (2013)) get leading roles in the series Swimming With Sharks, a drama series that Lionsgate will create for Quibi. Swimming With Sharks is a contemporary update of the 1994 film by George Huang. The series is written and produced by Kathleen Robertson (Murder in the First) and directed by Tucker Gates (Homeland).

In the series adaptation, Lou (Kiernan Shipka), a young female assistant, works for Joyce (Diane Kruger), the female head of a film studio. It is a company full of manipulation and intrigues. But few in the film studio know that Lou will outsmart them in the long run. In the original feature film the main roles were played by two men, Frank Whaley and Kevin Spacey.

Quibi is a new video service that will bring short quality series from April 6, primarily intended for viewing on the smartphone. Quibi was founded by former Disney and Pixar boss Jeffrey Katzenberg and has already attracted several big names. Steven Spielberg, Steven Soderbergh, Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi and Antoine Fuqua will make short films for Quibi.
