CBC working on series adaptation Son Of A Critch

CBC is adapting Son of a Critch: A Childish Newfoundland Memoir by Mark Critch into a series. The author will also be part of the series.
Lionsgate and the Canadian network CBC will start production on the series Son of a Critch. There will be thirteen episodes. The series is based on the similarly named memoir by Mark Critch (Satisfaction (2013)). Right now, the cast will consist of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (The Haunting), Malcolm McDowell (Castlevania), Claire Rankin (Creeped Out) and newcomers Sophia Powers and Mark Rivera (The Four Bad Boys and Me).

Son of a Critch takes place in the 80s. The story revolves around the eleven-year-old Mark from St. John's, Newfoundland. Even though he is physically eleven years old, he is a lot older on the inside. Critch will portray his own father. Ainsworth will portray the much younger Critch. The series will premiere on CBC TV and CBC Gem in 2022. A specific premiere date is not yet known.
