HBO and Adam McKay working on series adaptation of The First Shot

The book The First Shot revolves around the quest for a vaccine against corona and will be adapted by Adam McKay into a series. HBO is creating a series about the quest to find a vaccine against the coronavirus. The series is based on the non-fiction book The First Shot by Brendan Borrell. Adam McKay (Succession) is one of the people assigned to the project. He will be joined by Todd Schulman (who is American?) and Borrell, and the three will serve as executive producers.

The First Shot tells the story about the global coronavirus vaccine race. It follows the companies and individuals who put everything at stake to save lives, the science upon which it is based and the challenges that arise due to politics, access and safety.


Adam McKay
