Actress Helen McCrory passed away at the age of 52. She suffered from cancer. Amongst others, she has been part of Peaky Blinders and Anna Karenina (2000).
On the 17th of August in 1968, Helen McCrory was born in London. In 2007, she married actor Damian Lewis (Homeland). They had two children, a son and a daughter. In 1990, the actress started her successful career. The first series in which McCrory appeared was Full Stretch, which released in 1993.

She is probably most famous for her portrayal of Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders. Her most recent appearance was as a voice actress in His Dark Materials. She voiced Lord Asriel's dæmon Stelmaria. In the miniseries Roadkill (2020) she portrayed prime minister Dawn Ellison and in Anna Karenina (2000) she portrayed the lead role. She was also part of Quiz (UK), MotherFatherSon, Fearless (2017) and Penny Dreadful. For the last, she was nominated for a Critics Choice Television Award. In 1995, McCrory won a BAFTA for her portrayal of Jo in Screen Two, Streetlife.

Helen McCrory also appeared on the big screen, for example in Harry Potter and James Bond movies. She was also a huge fan of theatre and was part of quite a few plays.
