ABC has ordered a new Black-ish spin-off. Old-ish revolves around the parents of Dre Johnson, who is the main character in Old-ish.
ABC has announced a new spin-off to the popular series Black-ish. The spin-off revolves around Ruby and Earl, parents of Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson, Guys With Kids). The couple decides to give love a second chance. They move to a quickly gentrified neighbourhood in Los Angeles, where they meet characters who will represent the old and new inhabitants of the community.
In Black-ish, the parents of Dre Johnson are portrayed by Laurence Fishburne (Madiba) and Jenifer Lewis (Girlfriends). Supposedly, they'll both portray those roles in Old-ish.

Old-ish isn't the first spin-off to the series. Last year, ABC announced Mixed-ish, which revolves around Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross, Reed Between the Lines), who grows up in a mixed family in the eighties. Freeform created the first spin-off of Black-ish back in 2018, which is called Grown-ish.
