Orange Is the New Black is een Amerikaanse dramedy serie van Netflix. De serie ging in première op 11 juli 2013.
Orange Is The New Black draait om Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), een New Yorker die naar een vrouwengevangenis wordt gestuurd nadat ze betrapt werd met een koffer vol met drugsgeld afkomstig van haar vriendin Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), een internationale drugshandelaar en Chapman’s voormalige geliefde. Piper moet op haar eigen manier de opgelegde vijftien maanden gevangenisstraf zien te doorkomen.

I don't know what it is with this series, or maybe it is just me, but as far as I am concerned they deteriorate strongly every season while the first series was quite enjoyable. I am now halfway through season 3 and to me it seems as if they have used up all the inspiration and then try to breathe new life into the story by throwing in a number of flashbacks about how and why the various characters ended up in prison. . If I want to know a reason for that in the first season, it has been lost for a long time because it is all not very interesting. In the meantime the story, if there is one, just continues quietly so that the whole thing has become an excellent remedy for insomnia for me. Maybe I'll try to pick it up later, but for now I'm going to look something else.

I had little faith in season 3, after the somewhat disappointing season 2. Fortunately they were able to surprise me by screwing up the drama and making the humor less silly and exaggerated. It is just a shame that I am already going to watch the provisional last episode. : D

Season two disappointing! Funny, I found the series a lot stronger than season 1. Finally the Piper and Alex storyline was discharged and the focus was on the strong ensemble. The result is more depth and striking stories. Anyway, fortunately it remains a top series.

Then we still disagree once hahah. What do you think of Season 3? Like the episode with Dogget and Nicky and of course Craxy Eyes, P., Lorna, Red. I can agree that they gave the rest of the ensemble more depth in season 2 and not just paid attention to Piper and Alex. I also don't understand that fondness for Alex.

I only saw four episodes of season 3. First episode I found very strong, second a little less, but third and fourth just good again so I am satisfied with the season so far. For me it remains one of the best series on television and the best Netflix Original.

Quite entertaining series that looks good and doesn't bore despite the fact that the whole takes place in almost one location. a prison. The strong point of this series are the diverse and outspoken characters.

Felt like after watching two episodes of S02 they took a different approach. Looser, lighter, slightly bland... For the USA market maybe a good move, but we looked at each other a few times with a bling of "wh** the F***) Piper's story is fine in itself, but everything around it... Bit of a Soap level, hope it picks up, otherwise we might not make it to the end...

Have to agree with many people that season 2 is nothing compared to the first. For me, that's due to the fact that we get to see less Alex. I also find the humor a bit weaker and I find Vee and her group anything but pleasant. Just give me the old Taystee.

If 'Woman's Wing' and 'Oz' produced a love baby, it would be called 'Orange Is The New Black'. I've watched four so far and liked it quite a bit. Crazy Eyes for President!

The storyline is now clearly over the top with series 5. Unfortunately, it is becoming less and less fun.

Yes, Orange is great. I had a good laugh at some moments. Goad acting too, well written episodes, cool exposition and a very cool world that the makers create. One of the best series of recent times.
