Outlander to return with a shortened sixth season

Starz has revealed that the long-awaited sixth season of Outlander is going to premiere in early 2022. The season will have fewer episodes than expected.

After production was delayed due to the coronavirus, production on the sixth season of Outlander is going to wrap up after this week. The sixth season will consist of eight episodes, which is a couple of episodes fewer in comparison to the average season of the fantasy series. The creators will compensate for that with an expanded seventh season, which was announced earlier this year. The seventh season will have sixteen episodes.

A specific release date for the upcoming season hasn't yet been released, but according to Starz, it will release somewhere in early 2022. The sixth season of Outlander is based on A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the sixth book in the Outlander series. The seventh season revolves around the seventh book, which is called An Echo in the Bone.


Outlander
