Případ Janákovi

Případ Janákovi is an Czech documentary which is aired on Oneplay. The series premiered on August 1st, 2025.

The true crime series will bring a unique reconstruction of the crime of the murderers Jaroslav and Petra Janák from 2017. In the Levín gambling den in Nové Paka, they planned murders and fraud with life insurance. The sentence was 28 and 30 years for one completed murder, two attempted murders and two planned murders. The arrest of the Janák family and the sentencing in 2019 did not end the case. Janáková immediately became pregnant in prison, accused the guards of rape and had to be released due to a loophole in the law. The release outraged the public and the debate about the bad law ended in March 2020 with the amendment of the Criminal Procedure Code.
