“Yessss we start filming this summer! It’s gonna be so gooooood,” Holland replied on Instagram.
Holland plays Emilia Harcourt in James Gunn's DC series. The first season consisted of eight episodes and was released in January 2022.
Danielle Brooks, who plays Leota Adebayo on the superhero series, previously shared that season two was coming, but wasn't sure when they would start filming.
“It's going to happen,” Brooks said on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet. "That's all I know. It's going to happen. When? I'm not sure."
HBO Max ordered a second season of Peacemaker (2022) ahead of the first season's finale after a strong debut on the streaming platform. The series follows the escapades of Peacemaker, a role Cena played in Gunn's 2021 film The Suicide Squad. Peacemaker is a vain man who believes in peace at all costs, no matter how many people he has to kill to achieve it.
The cast of the series also includes Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick.
Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker (2022) and directed five, including the first. Gunn, Peter Safran and Matt Miller serve as executive producers of the series, with Cena as co-executive producer and Stacy Littlejohn as consulting producer.
Peacemaker (2022) is based on DC characters and is produced by Gunn's Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.
