Above all, Perpetual Grace, LTD is a feast for the eye, a succession of beautiful images. Images that - if they had been shot with a different camera - would compete every year for the places of honor of the International Photography Awards. You can't eat from a beautiful plate and Too Old To Die Young recently proved that form isn't everything, but let's not pretend beauty doesn't matter at all. And let Perpetual Grace, LTD now wholesale in beauty. There are going to be (enough) people who find Perpetual Grace, LTD too slow. Too weird. Too absurd. I understand all, but I love it. Delicious the way Fargo was delicious. Delicious, as the first round of True Detective was especially delicious. Maybe not 'nice-all-season-all-season-in-one-go-bing' delicious, but more 'relaxed-television-as-relaxed-television-is-is-delicious. This latest from Epix is not only a source of tranquility, it is also full of bizarre twists and turns and is surprisingly funny. Subtly funny, though. Something that really only stands out if you as a viewer do not slowly let yourself be lulled to sleep by a cadence that is most reminiscent of a relaxed train ride. Perhaps the directions for use should read that the maximum daily dosage of Perpetual Grace, LTD is only two episodes. At a higher dose, the effect decreases significantly. Concentration is what this series requires and who can bring it up will benefit from this. So ... Get it, get the rhythm, get the rhythm, there you go, there you fucking go.

Not quite my thing this series. This probably won't appeal to everyone. The comparison with Fargo is easily made. But I think that is a bit sharper, funnier and smoother. A series filled with bizarre but interesting characters. And an entertaining story, with many layers. And with very nice camera work. But also a lot of slow and vague scenes. I'm going to rethink whether I will watch Season 2, should that happen.

I've seen the first 3 episodes and now I'm wondering whether to stop or continue. I'm like, am I that smart or are they that stupid? Some dry and sarcastic humor here and there (I like that), occasionally confusing and sometimes not, strange characters and back and forth in the past and present. It's not bad and it's not bombastic either. If I decide to continue, it is really because of the beautiful nature. I don't know, I'll think about it for a few nights.

I had already posted a comment here after the first 3 episodes and that I didn't know yet whether I wanted to see the rest. If I decided to continue, it would be because of the beautiful locations. So I decided to give it another chance. From the moment I moved on, the beautiful locations and views suddenly stopped. What did I get in return...? Long, slow dialogues that were really about nothing. Of all the films and series I have seen in my life, this one will stick with me the most. I really don't know what else I can say about it and I don't understand at all that I watched everything. Maybe a silent hope for change, but no. I don't know what grade to give either, somehow I watched those 10 episodes, so there had to be a reason for that. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. Recommended? If you have courage, just watch this series.
