Jack Reynor will appear in the second season of Presumed Innocent, opposite Rachel Brosnahan, according to reports. While the first season of Presumed Innocent was based on Scott Turow’s 1987 bestseller Presumed Innocent – also adapted into the 1990 film starring Harrison Ford – the second season is inspired by Jo Murray’s debut novel, Dissection of a Murder, which will be released in 2026.

While Apple is still keeping the official story under wraps, publisher Pan Macmillan is already offering a glimpse: attorney Leila Reynolds is unexpectedly placed in charge of a murder case of national significance – the assassination of a well-known and respected judge. However, the suspect, Jack Millman, specifically demands her as defense attorney.
Besides Jack Reynor, known for the Netflix limited series The Perfect Couple, other important male roles are reportedly being written for the series. The Irish actor currently has a role in the upcoming season of the Prime Video series Citadel and is re-teaming with filmmaker John Carney on his new film Power Ballad.
The first season of Presumed Innocent, starring Jake Gyllenhaal as District Attorney Rusty Sabich, revolved around a murder case that completely upended the Chicago District Attorney's Office when one of its own is named as the suspect. Harrison Ford played the same role in the 1990 film version, which grossed over $221 million worldwide.
The first season earned four Emmy nominations, including for Jake Gyllenhaal (Best Actor in a Limited Series), Peter Sarsgaard and Bill Camp (Best Supporting Actor), and Ruth Negga (Best Supporting Actress).
