Pretty Little Liars gets fifth season and spin-off

ABC tells us today that Pretty Little Liars will get a spin-off, titeled 'Ravenswood'. Ravenswood is a town near Rosewood. The town has been suffering from a curse for generations. Five strangers suddenly feel connected by this fatal curse and feel the need to dig in the town's mysterious and horrible history before it's to late for each one of them. The new series will premiere in October, right after the Pretty Little Liars' annual halloween special. During this special Ravenswood and it's inhabitants will be introduced.

This is the tweet in which I. Marlene King, Pretty Little Liars' co-producer, announced the good news with a little mystery:

But the serie won't only get a spin-off. Tonight they also announced the series will get a fifth season. Though in the beginning they told us the series would be filmed in four seasons, now it's five seasons. Season four of Pretty Little Liars will premiere on June 11th 2013.
