Second season for Queen Sono

Netflix has renewed its first African original with a second season.Queen Sono, which features Pearl Thusi (Quantico), premiered on Netflix on the 28th of February. The series was conceived by Kagiso Lediga and Tamsin Andersson, who previously worked with Thusi on the movie Catching Feelings.

It is expected that production on the second season will start in the 4th quarter of this year. Due to the success of Queen Sono, Netflix is working on a second African original, Blood & Water. It will be a drama series that takes place in Cape Town.



A highly trained South-African spy (Pearl Thusi) is confronted by changing relationships in her private life; as she takes on one of the most dangerous missions she's ever been on.
