Aaron Guzikowski (The Red Road) has created the series. Ridley Scott (The Good Fight) directed the first two episodes and also serves as an executive producer for the first season. Raised by Wolves (2020) takes place on a mysterious planet, which was never inhabited by humans. After the earth has been destroyed due to a great war, two androids are given the task to raise human kids on the mysterious planet, which is called Kepler-22b. The quickly growing human colony threatens to be torn apart due to religious differences and the androids find it difficult to keep the group together.

Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max head has said the following about the renewal; “This chart-topping series beautifully weaves together Ridley’s hallmarks of sci-fi and horror while offering fans one of the most original storylines they’ve seen in some time. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for season two.”

Good news! It is a very original story and as far as I am concerned it deserves to be further explored.
