The Sheens, the Krabbees, the Skarsgårds. Every country probably has its acting fathers and sons, but while in America Martin is currently mainly concerned about the state of Charlie's t-cells and Jeroen only joins DWDD to talk about the origin of black holes, the route to world peace and its close relationship with every celebrity who dies tragically, the Skargård family is simply stoically working on their own field. For example, we recently saw Bill shine in a new season of Hemlock Grove, Alexander is still a little bit after all these years of True Blood and his role in the beautiful and underrated What Maisie Knew and is the patriarch of the family, Stellan Skarsgård, can now be seen in the new BBC series River. The great thing is that Netflix has added it to its range, so there is actually nothing in the way between you, the bank and you losing an evening in high-quality viewing food. What are you waiting for?! Detective John River lives in two worlds, in ours and in the imaginary world that his head regularly portrays to him. Nice and busy and cozy you would think, but nothing could be further from the truth. River is a bit lonely. At home there is no one who occasionally prepares a warm meal for him and recently he has also had to do it at work without the partner he has worked with for years. Poor John. His partner, Stevie, has been shot in front of his eyes and John has decided not to rest until the bottom stone in her murder case is up. That's dedication. If you already start wondering how to do without John River on the penultimate episode, then you know that you are dealing with one of the better series of the year. Anyone who enjoyed watching the bluish Nordic Noir cast in series such as The Bridge and The Killing will also receive it with open arms. River is like a pasta carbonara… It consists of only a few ingredients, but put together in the right order will eat your fingers at it. It is tasty in all its simplicity. In addition, Skarsgård portrays a friendly giant, who constantly wants to stroke you to say that everything will eventually be okay. An at times moving series about loss, pain and deep-seated love. A series to sit down with a baguette and a very good glass of wine. Won't you regret it. www.gumstarr.com

Indeed another wonderful British series. In the first episode I had a lot of doubts whether this was something for me, but the second episode is really fantastic.
