Exciting, good series. Not a fan of Nicole, but you get used to it. Quite funny at times, especially the drama sister. You keep watching. The constant switching between two time zones doesn't bother me. It complements the story well, and because of this, you understand more and more how life has unfolded...

My first impression after four episodes is this: well-acted, but a bit confusingly visualized. It takes some getting used to the flashbacks across three time periods (the '70s, 1998, and the present). The victims and their fate really moved me, which isn't always the case with this type of series. And also; Jamie Lee Curtis is unbelievably annoying in the first two episodes, because she plays Scarpetta's sister and she clearly has a narcissistic personality, so the actress can't be blamed for being so irritating (grin). Thank God this gets better starting from the episode where she gets into a conversation with an AI that strokes her ego. Hilarious scene!

I have to say that episode three won me over, more specifically Rose McEwen (Kay Scarpetta in 1998), who gave a stellar performance and completely sucked me into the story. From then on, I actually didn't want to stop watching, not even after bedtime. Nevertheless, I think Scarpetta relies on atmosphere, because once you get hooked, it really starts to become apparent how good everything is: the direction, the music (a very good soundtrack), the acting, the dialogue, and probably the book itself. The source text.

So, a questionable start, but before I knew it, I was already looking forward to a second season.
