Severance had paused production of season two last May when the WGA went on strike, followed by the SAG-AFTRA strike. Now that both strikes have long been resolved, production is back on schedule.
Severance, from creator and writer Dan Erickson and Stiller, stars Scott as Mark Scout, who leads a team at Lumon Industries whose employees have undergone a special procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and private life. This daring experiment in 'work-life balance' is called into question when Mark finds himself at the center of a mystery that forces him to confront the true nature of his work... and himself.
Severance also stars Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus and Christopher Walken.
Gwendoline Christie (Wednesday), Bob Balaban (The Politician (2019)), Merritt Wever (Unbelievable), Alia Shawkat (The Old Man), Robby Benson (American Dreams), Stefano Carannante, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist) and John Noble (Fringe) are joining for the second season.
The series was written by Erickson. Mark Friedman, Chris Black, John Cameron and Andrew Colville executive produce with Erickson. Stiller, Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn are producing through Red Hour Productions and both Arquette and Scott are producers. Fifth Season functions as a studio.
