Sweets is a four-part true-crime documentary series about 40 years of the Netherlands as an XTC nation. The CANAL+ Original Creation reveals how Brabant grew into the epicenter of a multi-billion dollar industry. From anonymous barns and stables, the ‘sweets’ found their way to dance floors from Tokyo to Tel Aviv and from Melbourne to Mexico. In doing so, XTC became Brabant’s most famous – and most controversial – export product. For the first time, key players from the Dutch XTC industry speak about their business, their fears, the police & justice system, and about each other.
