Spartacus is een Amerikaanse historische actieserie van Starz. De serie ging in première op 22 januari 2010.
Spartacus is een Thracische soldaat die vecht voor de Romeinen onder Claudius Glaber. Wanneer hij tegen Glaber in opstand komt omdat die ten strijde wil trekken tegen de troepen van Mithridates VI van Pontus, wordt hij gearresteerd en tot slaaf gemaakt. Hij wordt samen met nog een aantal andere slaven geronseld voor een gladiatorenschool. Voortaan mag hij vechten in het Amfitheater tot vermaak van het Romeinse volk. Om te overleven moet hij niet alleen vechten tegen zijn collega-gladiatoren, hij moet ook vechten tegen verraad en corruptie en bovendien stelt vrouwelijke nabijheid hem op de proef. Eerst is hij koppig en onhandelbaar. Een lint van zijn vrouw, die ontvoerd is toen hij werd gearresteerd, brengt hem tot andere gedachten. Zijn meester zegt dat hij zijn vrouw gaat zoeken zolang Spartacus vecht en hem dominus (latijns voor meester) noemt.

Just saw the end. Too bad it's over already.. Can we certainly wait another year for season 2! :( The last episode was nice btw ;)

I've just started and I'm almost through the series already... Didn't find it very catchy at the beginning, but after 3-4 episodes I wanted to see the rest too!

What are all those well-trained fashion victims out there haunting until the wee hours in the reguliersdwars? Well, just watching Spartacus with nuts in a bowl and body lotion with a tissue on the table. It doesn't get much more homo-erotic than this epic epic. I went well on it myself, because always just in time a tit slipped through the image. And the storyline, of course. Spartacus goes a little snippy against a high-ranking Roman and is arrested and sold into slavery. Your own fault, you just have to act normal. As a slave he is trained to be a gladiator and apparently you can only get that by walking around all day in underpants that are too small by the blazing sun. Furthermore, Spartacus experiences everything. It lacks the raw edge that is in series like 'The Borgias' and 'Game Of Thrones', but if you went for that animation-like vibe in '300' and 'Sin City' (damn I really need to watch that again ), then you're stuck with Spartacus.
