The first season of Squid Game was released in 2021 and after a three-year wait, the second season was finally released online. In the second season, which was released on December 26, 2024 and consisted of seven episodes, the protagonist tried to put an end to the games.
The second season is also extremely popular and continues to break records, although there was also quite a bit of criticism about the open ending. Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk had previously said that the second and third seasons will form one story.
Fortunately, fans don't have to wait too long: the third season - which is also the last - will be released soon, because Squid Game season three can be streamed on Netflix from Thursday, June 27. This date does not come completely out of the blue: June 27 was already mentioned in the promotional video as the date of the third season of Squid Game.
This video was immediately taken offline and Netflix has not said anything about this possible release date. Not much is known about the story of the third season. What we do know is that the game will continue. According to the cast, we will see new games and the final season will provide heartbreaking moments.
But I'm not sure if I'll watch it. I (still) don't get the hype about this series.
