When the Cardassian occupation of Bajor ended in 2369, the mining space-station Terok Nor was left abandoned, its systems ripped out. By invitation of the provisional Bajoran government, Starfleet stepped in to oversee the rebuilding and day-to-day operations of the newly christened Deep Space Nine. DS9 soon became a center of travel and commerce thanks to a newly found stable wormhole leading to the largely unexplored Gamma Quadrant.

Like TNG, DS9 is a great series that, like Voyager, is a spin-off of TNG. The trips through the wormhole in unknown and unexplored territory were very fascinating. It became especially exciting when the Dominion made their appearance. It is also a shame that they did not make a remaster of this series like they did with TNG. But as I understand it, the series was recorded with low resolution video equipment and no film was used, so the resolution cannot be higher, just like with Babylon 5, which is a shame!
