StartUp is een Amerikaanse dramaserie van de zender Crackle. De serie ging in première op 6 september 2016.
StartUp gaat over wat er gebeurd als een briljant, maar controversieel idee financiële steun krijgt van drie vreemden die niet echt techneuten zijn. FBI Agent Phil Rask is gespecialiseerd in financiële misdaden en komt in contact met Nick Talman, een scherpe en intelligente financier van een boetiek in Miami. Rask moet niet hem hebben, maar zijn vader. Nick heeft niet echt een goede relatie met zijn rijke en onverantwoordelijke vader. Als hij verdwijnt besluit Nick het geld niet aan de FBI te geven maar te investeren in een startup bedacht door de onorthodoxe Izzy Morales die de wereld wil veranderen.

StartUp is one of my favorite series. It's fast, it's about cryptocurreny, and it's set in Miami. I've seen 3 seasons now and can't wait for the 4th.

The whole idea on which this series is based is quite interesting in itself but, at least as far as the pilot is concerned, the execution of it could be a bit tighter / smoother. And while they are at it, the makers may immediately be able to remove the superfluous ones, since they do not show anything and have no added value, sex scenes from subsequent episodes. Given the potential that does exist, and the further course could become quite interesting, I will continue to follow this series for a while.

The points of criticism that I had after watching the pilot episode are somewhat removed afterwards and they even manage to keep the good things. Because a mixture of scams, murder, corrupt cops, Haitian gangsters, Russian mafiosi and the creation and hostile takeover of a company that aims to change the world with a new virtual currency is more than enough to keep ten episodes exciting. Even though it is all a bit too easy here and there and it is not all equally credible. Such as a disappearance and murder that, after the discovery of the victim and the flight of an obvious possible perpetrator, is suddenly no longer even discussed, even though it is a murder of a cop. And so there are still a few things to mention in this series that will hopefully have a second season because the story has not been completely told yet.
